Federal designations bill clears Senate committee

A Utah lawmaker wants cities, counties and other governmental institutions that want a federal land designation to first run it past a committee of lawmakers. That bill by Rep. Mike Noel, R-Kanab, passed a Senate committee on Monday despite critics.
